Care recommendations to extend the life of your pieces.
Outdoor furniture, properly cared for, is an investment that lives for decades. The teak, powder-coated aluminium, rope weave and outdoor fabrics we use are selected to withstand sun, rain and salty air - yet each material has its own character and its own rhythm of care. This guide will help your pieces hold their first-day presence for years.
Teak and wood naturally weather to a silver-grey patina outdoors. This is character, not a flaw, and does not affect the timber's strength; apply teak oil once or twice a year if you prefer the original honey tone. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush along the grain - never a pressure washer, which lifts the fibres. Minor scratches sand out easily.
Metal frames should be wiped with a damp cloth; abrasives, solvents and chlorine permanently damage the powder coating. In coastal settings, a monthly fresh-water rinse prevents salt build-up. Rope surfaces take the same soapy-water care and should dry in the shade, protected from sharp objects and pet claws.
Cushions and fabrics are woven with water- and UV-resistant outdoor yarns, but no outdoor fabric is designed to stay out forever. Storing cushions dry and ventilated through winter significantly extends their life. Spot-clean with pH-neutral soap; removable covers wash cold on a gentle cycle. Ceramic table tops resist heat and scratching; a damp cloth is enough - avoid acidic cleaners.
In winter, store pieces under cover with breathable protection covers, and only when completely dry; airtight tarpaulins trap moisture and invite mould. For product-specific questions, send us a photo and we will advise on the right care for the material.
